Abstract: Zuo Zhongmei, a Yi nationality female writer in Yangbi county of Yunnan Province, has published four collections of
essays. From a perspective of life aesthetics, she is accustomed to taking the people, incidents, things and sceneries in her native land
as the setting of her stories and records the changes of the ethnic villages in the southwestern border areas during the course of China's
modernization. Focusing on the relationship between man and nature, her works show a sense of harmonious coexistence and a spirit of
positiveness, liveliness, freshness and vigorousness. In the meantime, she focuses on ordinary local people, trying to present the poetic
and beautiful daily life. Her works show a sense of liveliness, a compassion for all things, a heart-warming love for home and a return to
man's original nature, which is in line with the essence of life aesthetics.
